TYRE KING TRADING PVT.LTD.

Tyre King Enterprises Limited is one of the leading tyre retailers in Zambia. It represents a number of tyre brands (see appendix A) in Zambia and it imports tyres from factories around the world and distributes these products through its own network of tyre fitment centres located around Zambia. Tyre King currently operates 12 fitment centres from properties which are either owned or leased. It distributes products from its own central warehouse in Lusaka and satellite warehouses on the Copperbelt. It runs a fleet of 20 vehicles.

Tyre King was incorporated in 1995 and opened its first retail outlet in Lusaka. Tyre King initially dealt in used tyres supported by a very limited range of new imported tyres from Thailand. As the business progressed we dropped the used tyres from the product range and focused our efforts on new tyres. The number of brands and sizes on offer to our clients were increased. In order to provide a better service to our clients on the Copperbelt we opened an outlet in Ndola which is in the north of Zambia. Following on from the success of our Ndola operation we opened a further outlet in the northern city of Kitwe also on the Copperbelt region.  This expansion was overseen by the Copperbelt Director Mr. Arshad Sayed.

After consolidating our presence on the Copperbelt focus was switched back to the capital of Zambia, Lusaka.  Lusaka has a population exceeding 2 million and is a fast growing capital city. Currently Zambia is classed economically as having a low middle income population.  The majority of the fitment centres Tyre King operates are located in Lusaka. The services offered by our retail fitment centres are fitting, balancing, alignment, tyre repairs and auto battery sales and fitment. Tyre King deals in all categories of tyres from passenger to OTR and has a wide ranging clientele. Tyre King supplies all sectors of the market in Zambia both in the private and public sectors. Next year, Tyre King is looking to expand its operations in other areas of Zambia outside of the capital and its existing operations on the Copperbelt.

In August 2010 Tyre King opened its first overseas outlet, at Navi Mumbai in India. This opportunity arose due to the relocation of our Copperbelt Director Mr. Sayed.  The first year of operation has been challenging due to a number of factors. The Indian market functions differently to the Zambian market and it has been a new learning experience.  However, we feel that we are on the right path and are responding well to the challenges we have faced.

We believe the key to success in India will be founded upon strategic partnerships with quality brands together with offering our clientele a superior level of professional service. The investment made in the first outlet is a statement of intent with respect to ensuring the provision of a high quality customer experience.

The breadth of experience we have gained providing a high level of professional service in Zambia will prove to be an important asset in establishing a strong presence in the Indian market.
